Non-Insulin_Dependent Diabetes

This type of diabetes is also known as onset diabetes or maturityonest diabetes. It may seldom develops before the age of 40 years, although it may occur at any age.Infact the incidentce of type-2 diabetes in adolescents is on the rise.but becouse the symptoms are mid, these may not be noticed and the condition remains undetected for a longperiod and till later years.
Most people realize they have type-2 diabetes only when a urine test shows the presence of sugar,or a blood test reveals the presence of high blood-glucose levels.Strangely.people suffering from this type of diabetes may have normal levels of insulin in their blood.but the body cells in these individuals refuse to accept insulin, and as a result, sugar stays and accumulates in the bloodstream.
This phenomenon is known as resistant to insulin is not fully understood, but excess weight and fatty tissues seem to be important factors most people who develop type-2 diabetes tend to be overweight.
